Tunage Magazine

Tunage Magazine is an online magazine made to serve fans and bands, established by my friend, Deanna Paulsen. The website features playlists, interviews, upcoming shows and events, photo shoots, posters, reviews, and aims to bring new artists to the eyes of the public.

As a graphic designer, I collaborated with Deanna Trombley to help set the website to launch. First, I designed a logo that reflected the magazine’s intentions and motivational edge. Next, we used the logo to brand the website in the header and poster templates. At the launch of the website, I was responsible for designing posters for the bands who came to interview with us. And lastly, the overall dream was to see the magazine as a print. Therefore, I constructed a visual prototype of covers and sample spreads.

One of the challenges I encountered during this project was adapting the posters to the band or musician’s style or preference. When our clients had specific instructions about what they wanted in their poster, it was easier to follow through. However, I would not have the same contact with each band, as they were mostly indifferent about their poster design. In this case I needed to research, listen, and find common factors about their themes and musical style.
